UK JUDGES PENSION

PAY AND PENSIONS: Judges have what has been called a "diamond-encrusted" pension. After 20 years they can retire on a pension of half their salary - and don't have to contribute anything to pay for it. It means one in six retired judges currently draws a pension of more than £67,000 and on average a retired judge gets £54,000.

ONTARIO DOCS get no Work Pension even though they have to pay compulsory
"union" dues to the OMA, based on the Justice Ivan RAND Formula.

Ontario docs do not have to be an OMA member, however the membership fee will be deducted from their OHIP monthly payments.(162 Ont.docs choose not to be members of the politically Left OMA)

ONTARIO MEDICAL REVIEW: UNSIGNED POLICY PAPER

UNSIGNED Policy paper criticising the Provincial Liberal Government's three months waiting time for Provincial medical coverage (OHIP Ont.Health Ins.Plan) affecting those coming back to Ontario after an absence of 212 days, immigrants and those from other provinces. Private insurance is easily available; also non-Ontarians are covered by their home province for three months.

The paper wants immediate coverage for all at taxpayers' expense

OMA blocked Retired docs without CPSO licence to stand for Election.

OMA Board`has voted a bye-law to prevent docs without a CPSO licence from being elected to any OMA post. This applies mainly to Retired doctors who do not want to give the CPSO  $1420 a year:(there is no reduction for retired physicians)..

This may be the background behind the new OMA by-law that blocks retired doctors from Elected OMA posts unless they pay $1400 a year for CPSO registration. With an ageing medical pipulation the CPSO may be worried about a loss of income. The UK GMC has a more modest fee for retired doctors of abour $350 a year. In USA most States charge about $300 a year licence fee..

The OMA Board has decreed that doctors who do not renew their CPSO licence are not eligible for any elected position.

There was no explanation for this decision. The Proposer,Seconder and voting is not published.

It is known that many OMA Committee members are also on well-paid CPSO committees.
