CPSO ignorance in using "ALLOPATHIC" medicine.as a description of SCIENTIFIC MEDICINE.

allopathy Look up allopathy at Dictionary.com
1842, "treatment of disease by remedies that produce effects opposite to the symptoms," from Ger. Allopathie (Hahnemann), from Gk. allos "other" (see alias) + -patheia, comb. form of pathos "suffering, disease, feeling" (see pathos). The term applied by homeopathists to traditional medicine.
On CPSO web site CEO ("Registrar")  Dr. R.V.GERACE demonstrates limited knowledge of English etymology using "allopathy" as a description of scientific medicine. "Allopathy" was coined by linguistic genius (nine languages) Dr.C.F.S. HAHNEMANN (1755-1843) who advised "fresh air, bed rest, diet, sunshine, and Public hygiene".and argued that "like cures like".

Homeopathy has been favoured by the UK Royal Family together with Scientific medicine. Homoeopaths spend at least 1 1/2 hr during a visit. The little round white pills do no harm. Homoeopaths appeal to those who want (non-OHIP) PERSONAL attention as well as (OHIP) DIAGNOSTIC  medicine. Cambridge medical graduate Late Dr. Margery BLACKIE CVO,MD, FFHOM (1898-1981) was Homoeopathic physician to H.M.The Queen.(1968).

GLOBE & MAIL: High School & University suicides

No mention of possible post Infectious mononucleosis depression.

In Ontario, PhD-Clinical psychologists are not paid by Government medical insurance.(OHIP)

Ontario GPs without formal psychological/psychiatric training or Certification can bill OHIP for GP "psychotherapy". No medical equipment needed. Sedentary occupation with 30/60 minute visits. Minimal  medico-legal risks.

  • Testosterone Deficiency as a Risk Factor for Cardiovascular Disease
    September 26, 2011

Male gender, diabetes mellitus, and obesity, are known risk factors for the development of cardiovascular disease. Increasing attention has been given in recent years to the link between testosterone deficiency and increased risk of cardiometabolic disease. Recent meta-analyses have demonstrated a correlation between metabolic syndrome (e.g., commonly defined as obesity, diabetes/insulin resistance, hypertension, dyslipoproteinemia and gout) and lower serum testosterone levels.
Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism occurs in up to 33% of men with type 2 diabetes. The Massachusetts Male Aging Study found that low levels of testosterone and sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG) are independent risk factors for the development of type 2 diabetes. In addition, this study demonstrated that low serum testosterone predicts the development of metabolic syndrome.
Declining serum testosterone levels throughout a man’s life are associated with an increase in all-cause mortality and an increase in atherosclerosis, visceral obesity, insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and hypertension, the key components of the metabolic syndrome. Prospective clinical trials in men with prostate cancer who have undergone androgen deprivation therapy have found increased cardiovascular risk by increasing body weight, reducing insulin sensitivity, and/or resulting in dyslipidemia.

NHS files sold for a tenner

A SHOPKEEPER bought a second-hand filing cabinet for £10 — and found it contained personal details and test results for 1,200 NHS patients.

Eric Cuerton, 54, got the 6ft metal cabinet from a scrap merchant to store fireworks for sale in his hardware shop.
But when he cut open a locked drawer he discovered five books crammed with private information plus 14 computer discs.
They held names, addresses, and National Insurance numbers plus results from scans, X-rays, and genital swabs and blood, urine and pregnancy tests.
The files, dating from 1999 to 2006, also named patients with cancer and sexual diseases.
Dad-of-one Eric alerted police who told the NHS, which plans to investigate in Grimsby, Lincs.
The cabinet is believed to have been cleared from a GP's surgery refurbished for £2million last year. Eric said: "I was shocked. It's really private stuff. There's everything you need to defraud someone."
Patient John Ellis, 75, of Grimsby, whose records were among those found, said: "This should be kept under lock and key. I'm upset and shocked."
North East Lincolnshire Primary Care Trust said: "Plans are in place to collect the documents."
