Protect Patients from
Illegal OHIP Billing
On June 21st, the Ontario
government announced that it is
stepping up efforts to
investigate potential illegal fees
that health care providers
charge for services that are
insured by OHIP. At the same
time, the Ontario Liberal Party
issued a news release that
used language that the OMA
felt was inappropriate. The
OMA made our concerns aware
to the Minister and other Senior
Officials. Minister Deb
Matthews has since called OMA
President Dr. Kennedy to
apologize and the news release
has been removed from their

ReplyDeleteThis new Libral Govt attack on Ont MDs will cause MDs not to even OFFER services not yet covered by OHIP. It can take years for a new advance in medicine to be approved by OHIP.
