CPSO: Conflict of Interest; Tribunal vs Court;
When selecting a legal firm for CPSO Tribunal advise to get n writing that your Legal team has no personal connection with the CPSO, In recent past., the present Vice-Chair CPSO comm, Inquiries,Complaints & Reports Kingston ER Dr W J Spotswood MD (Queen's 1970) had a son who worked at Toronto Lenczner Slaight. Now his son is Senior Associate with Toronto branch Clyde & Co, Also CPSO TRIBUNAL is not a Court. Taking Oath & standing not required when Tribunal members come & go, Also one does not have to sit in the Prisoner's Box in the centre of the room facing a TV camera. Giving evidence is not obligatory, All -female CPSO lawyers offer lengthy questions which are impossible to give a Yes/No answer. Insist that the Lead Lawyer provides in writing that the lawyer will attend all Tribunal hearings, If unable. will ask for another date.
